Birds, Flowers and Trees in Spring(

Carved in imitation of a libation cup of rhinoceros horn, this bamboo cup is made of zhugen (the underground stem of a bamboo tree although it is mistakenly called the "bamboo root"), and has fine textures and a rich dark red colour. The decoration is the stump of a finger-citron tree carved in the round. The finger-citron is called "fo shou", or "Buddha's hand", a
